No-Bake Christmas Tree Cookies

Share

These no-bake Christmas tree cookies are an easy festive treat made with finely ground biscuits, cocoa, walnuts, butter, and a hint of rum. The mixture comes together quickly, with just enough milk added to create a soft dough that can be shaped into little Christmas trees.

Once chilled, the cookies are firm, chocolatey, and slightly nutty, with a texture somewhere between a truffle and a biscuit cake. A dusting of powdered sugar gives them a snowy finish, while coconut flakes make an equally festive alternative. They’re simple enough to make with kids and ideal when you want a Christmas treat without turning on the oven.

Servings 10 servings

  • 500 g plain biscuits , finely ground
  • 150 g butter , softened
  • 50 g sugar
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 50 g walnuts , finely chopped
  • 1 tsp rum essence
  • 10 g vanilla sugar
  • 100 ml milk , as needed
  • powdered sugar or coconut flakes , for decorating
  • Combine the ground biscuits, sugar, cocoa powder, walnuts, vanilla sugar, butter, and rum essence in a large bowl. Mix and knead until well combined.

  • Add the milk gradually, a little at a time, until the mixture comes together into a firm dough that holds its shape without being crumbly. You may not need all the milk.

  • Shape the mixture into small balls. Press each ball firmly into a Christmas tree mold. If you don’t have one, a small funnel can be used to create a simple cone-shaped tree.

  • Carefully remove the cookies from the mold and arrange them on a plate or tray. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes, or until firm.

  • Before serving, dust with powdered sugar for a snowy effect or sprinkle with coconut flakes.

  • Keep refrigerated in an airtight container.
