Sweetgreen has a new chief people officer.

The fast-casual chain has named Lauren Crowley to the role, effective Oct. 26. She replaces Adrienne Gemperle, who will transition out of her role while working alongside Crowley through the end of the year, the company said.

Crowley comes with two decades of experience, serving most recently as senior vice president of human resources at OC Sports & Entertainment. She also spent seven years with Expedia Group where she supported 16,500 employees across 56 countries. At Starbucks, Crowley led U.S. retail HR operations supporting more than 200,000 partners across more than 15,000 locations.

“Lauren brings the exact blend of strategic vision, operational rigor and people-first leadership that Sweetgreen needs at this stage of our journey,” said CEO and Co-founder Jonathan Neman in a statement. “She has a deep understanding of how to build strong cultures and people organizations at scale, and I’m thrilled to welcome her to the team. I know she will be an incredible partner to our leaders and our restaurant teams as we continue to evolve and grow.”

The CPO change is the latest in a series of executive team moves for the Los Angeles-based chain, which has been working to turnaround declining sales.

In May, the chain named Cindy Olsen to the role of senior vice president, chief strategy officer, which was a newly created role. In April, Ryan Slemons was named chief development officer.

Last year, Jamie McConnell stepped into the chief financial officer role; Zipporah Allen joined the company as chief commercial officer; and Jason Cochran became chief operating officer. And, at the end of the year, Co-founder Nathaniel Ru also retired from the chief brand officer position, though he remains a member of the board.
