Sweetgreen is refreshing its beverage lineup with the rollout of some new drinks.

The fast-casual chain on Tuesday introduced two new flavors: Tropical Black Tea and Fresh Blackberry Basil. In addition, the chain has updated the recipes for its Signature Lemonade and Ginger Greens (sweet apple, spinach and ginger). The rollout is across 120 locations, initially, as the chain learns and takes feedback before a systemwide shift.

The refresh includes the addition of a new 24-ounce cup size, which joins the existing 16-ounce offering. Prices vary, but the average price is $3.55 for the 16-ounce, and $4.35 for the 24-ounce.

Beverages have increasingly become an important part of the menu across the industry, but Sweetgreen’s new drinks stand out for their lack of artificial ingredients and sugar.

The company said the four drinks are made fresh in-house with real fruit, vegetables and herbs, with agave as the sweetener. The Tropical Black Tea, for example, has no added sweetener, but it’s made with fruit and toasted coconut notes.

Since the 285-unit chain began offering house-made beverages in July 2025, the share of transactions that include a drink has increased 25%, Sweetgreen said.

“At Sweetgreen, we’re always exploring new ways to bring bold, delicious flavors to the menu,” said Nicolas Jammet, co-founder and chief concept officer. “We made them slightly less sweet so the blackberry, basil and ginger come through first, and every drink is crafted to complement the meal. A drink is often that last thing someone adds to their order, and we want it to be one of the parts they look forward to the most.”
