Menu Tracker: New items from McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Taco Bell
Would chicken breast and raw tuna be enough protein for one meal? Apparently not as far as Pokeworks is concerned. Its new High-Protein Surf & Turf Bowl doesn’t just have those two items, but also surimi (aka imitation crab made from pollock), and edamame, resulting in a bowl with 44 grams of protein.
Smoothie King has added to its lineup of high-protein foods with new chicken flatbread, and Panera is also listing the protein content of many of the items it has rolled out in its latest menu overhaul, the largest one since, well, two years ago.
In other protein news, Arby’s has a new cheesesteak sandwich, Norms has a shrimp po’boy, Outback Steakhouse has a bunch of meaty Father’s Day specials, Qdoba has new steak, Starbird has new chicken salads and wraps, and Tropical Smoothie Cafe has a new flatbread.
In beverage news, Jollibee, a chain from The Philippines, a country known for its excellent mangos, has two frozen drinks featuring that fruit. Dunkin’ has two drinks tied to the U.S. Open, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop has a July 4-oriented Margarita, and Starbucks has blue drinks with a charitable component tied to clean drinking water.
Via 313 has a new pizza featuring a beloved Texas barbecue sauce, Taco Bell has new versions of its Chalupas and Nacho Fries, and Mellow Mushroom has savory rolls made with feta cheese.
For dessert, McDonald’s is bringing back its fried apple pie, Krispy Kreme has fruity new doughnuts, and Rita’s has mermaid themed treats.
Finally, Velvet Taco’s Weekly Taco Feature highlights chicken shawarma.
