The company behind the growing Kyuramen chain is moving into co-branding with a fast-casual format that brings together three of its brands.
The first multi-brand location for Kyuramen Group opened Thursday in New York City’s Financial District. At the center is Kyuramen Express, the company’s first fast-casual variation of the typically full-service ramen chain, which has nearly 60 full-service outlets.

Under the same roof is the new Bao Dumpling, a concept created by Kyuramen Group that combines the flavors of traditional Chinese takeout dishes with dumplings.
On the menu, for example, are the Signature Dumpling Bowls, which could include items like Spicy King Pao Chicken Dumplings or Orange Beef Dumpling. That menu also includes classic rice bowls, bao, noodles, and other shareable dishes, the company said.

The third concept is Aokō Matcha, a gelato and café concept the group acquired earlier this year. The plan at the time was to grow Aokō both as a standalone brand and within Kyuramen restaurants.
First launched in 2025, Aokō gives guests an opportunity to choose the intensity of their matcha by grade in parfaits or soft-serve gelato. The brand also offers specialty lattes, Japanese tea, and matcha-infused desserts.
Gary Lin, Kyuramen’s founder and CEO, said in a statement, “This is our first opportunity to bring several Kyuramen experiences together in one fast-casual setting. We wanted to create a space where guests can build the meal they want and enjoy Asian-inspired comfort food at one convenient location.”
The group also has two locations of Super Kyuramen — in Herndon, Virginia and Las Vegas — described as a more immersive Japanese experience with an izakaya-style menu that includes ramen.
