Halloween has long been a massive peak night for pizza and quick-service brands as parents rush to feed their kids in time for trick-or-treating. Indeed, BlackBox Intelligence ranks the holiday in the top three busiest days of the year.
It’s no wonder, then, that plenty of chains are jockeying for top-of-mind awareness to win that influx of spending. KFC is doing so by hosting 13 straight days of “Scary Good Deals” leading up to Halloween.
The nearly-two-week-long campaign began Oct. 19 with a free Classic Chicken Sandwich with a $5 purchase. Today’s deal includes free wedges or fries with a $5 purchase.
Throughout the remainder of the month, KFC’s Halloween deals include:
Oct. 21: Two Snackers for $4
Oct. 22: Free two-piece Chicken on the Bone with $10 purchase
Oct. 23: 40% off five-piece Tenders Combo
Oct. 24: $20 Chicken & Nugget Meal
Oct. 25: $15 eight-piece Tenders Meal
Oct. 26: Free Pot Pie with $10+ purchase
Oct. 27: Free Famous Bowl with $10 purchase
Oct. 28: 10 Wings for $10
Oct. 29: Free Snacker with $5 purchase
Oct. 30: 50% off 12-piece chicken-only Bucket
Oct. 31: 50 KFC nuggets for $20. In the Louisville, Kentucky, market, a 50-piece nugget order is typically $29.99
This Halloween campaign comes as KFC ramps up its value offerings amid a competitive, deal-focused environment and as the chain makes a bevy of changes to its menu and marketing messages to execute its comeback plan put into place last year. KFC just announced a switch from Pepsi to Coke after 40 years, for example, while also introducing Go Buckets for snackers.
On the value side, KFC recently rolled out a 5 for $5 Tenders deal, $20 Build-a-Bucket, $10 Bucket of the Day, Popcorn Chicken Big Box, and more.
